WHO WE ARE
The NexusBC Community Resource Centre - Volunteer Services is formerly known as the Vernon and District Volunteer Bureau.  This service has been in operation since 2002 and is a recruitment and referral centre for volunteers and a networking and information centre for non-profit organizations.  Watch this Shaw video for a brief overview of what we do:

OUR MISSION STATEMENT
To foster and support volunteerism in building a healthy and engaging community.

COMMUNITIES SERVED
Lumby, Lavington, Vernon, Coldstream, Cherryville, Falkland, Armstrong and Enderby.

WHO WE SERVE
We support the following program and services: special needs services,seniors services, indigent service, arts and culture, emergency services, women's services, environmental programs, crime prevention, aboriginal services, crisis intervention, youth services, rehabilitation services, immigration services, employment services, heritage preservation, animal care service, health services, recreational programs, educational services, welfare services, and community events. 

HEART AND HANDS COMMUNITY NETWORK
Coordinators of volunteers from non-profit organizations meet monthly to network, share information, problem solve, and plan events around the issues of volunteerism. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at the People Place from 12pm to 1pm.  Coordinators of volunteers or representatives of non-profit agencies are welcome to join the group and to bring to the table concerns or news regarding volunteer recruitment, retention, liability, and community awareness.
